National People’s Congress Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo who is in Australia for a friendly visit hosts in Sydney, Australian Labor Party regional Executive President Mr. Steven Moon is invited to participate.
May 2005, Chinese National People’s Congress Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo who is on an official goodwill visit to Australia meet Prime Minister of New South Wales State Carl at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Center on 22nd. Since China and Australia established diplomatic relations for 33 years, our relationship has a got a sustained development. In recent years, high-level visits between the two countries are closer and political relations have been continuously strengthened. Economic and trade exchanges and cooperation is in full swing as well as maintain consultation and cooperation in regional and international affairs. In April, Prime Minister John Howard had a successful visit to China. Australia recognizes China’s full market economy status, and both sides decided to start the Sino-Australian FTA talks, Sino-Australian relations are now in their best period of development.
Chairman Wu said he is glad to have this opportunity to visit New South Wales. New South Wales and Sydney are places familiar to Chinese people where play a vital role in Australia and an important role in the development of Sino-Australian relations. In recent years, exchanges and cooperation of China and New Jersey expands, mutual investment increases significantly and personnel exchanges increases as well. His current visit to New Jersey is to deepen friendly and cooperative relations existing between China and New Jersey.
Carl said he is very pleased to have this honor to meet Chairman Wu. He also said that the rapid development of China’s economy for 20 years has become a miracle to the world economic history, we are proud of Chinese people. With beneficial cooperation between New States and China continue to deepen mutually, which would bring a strong driving force to New State economic and social development. The development of relations between New State and China is a new consensus on state government and people, who all keen to strengthen bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. I believe Chairman Wu’s visit will greatly promote relationship between the state and China.
Wu Bangguo said, China and New State have a highly complementary in economy and two sides have great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation. China is willingly to work together with New State to strengthen and expand exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade, science and technology, education and tourism, thus promote common prosperity. We welcome more New Jersey enterprises to invest in China,and also hope New State government provide more convenience for Chinese enterprises’ development-here.
